There's a low kms 612 in black for 300k too. Guess manual Ferraris really suffer in the land of the lazy.

Test drove a blue one of these a year ago, same asking price. I recall seeing them at Maranello in Egham for around 175,000GBP when they came out.

Bloody tempting eh. What are the running costs like on a good example?

Like an annual divorce by all accounts but probably worth it. Stunning bit of kit.

Yes, I've done the divorce already. I'm sure the Ferrari would be more rewarding in the long term.

The water pump is the weak link with these out here and they will overheat in traffic. I'm not sure whether Ferrari upgraded them eventually or not but something to check. Great cars otherwise but wrong colour for me.

Running costs are actually pretty decent as long as you don't use the thieving main dealer. Read Noel Ebdon's excellent blog on CAR Middle East if you want to know a smart way to run a Ferrari in this country. Whenever something goes wrong on his 348, he always finds a workable solution. Simple stuff like wiring, bushes, hoses needn't cost the earth at Al Tayer - you often discover Seats, Renaults, Volvos and all manner of "ordinary" cars use the same parts from OEM suppliers, often available for a quarter or a fifth of the price.

The only thing to bear in mind is you need a slush fund for when something really big goes wrong. The reason I asked who the seller is is because I sold my 550 to the infamous Harry from CarSeat, and I would urge you not to buy off him. I looked at the pics and this is not the same car unless he changed the interior.

The car was reliable even in the middle of traffic in summer heat, though the check engine light used to cost me AED1500 to reset at the main stealer every time it happened.

Best bet is go and visit them and talk things over. They have all the tools (mechanical and electrical) needed to do servicing and maintenance.
