im only taking 300 pounds to spend during the 2 full days(due to instant decision buying a ring as well).
we are flying back on monday so we really have saturday and sunday.
one of the plans would be to go see ferrari world.
any other sugestions?

should i rent a car? cheap one works out about the same as the taxi fare to and from the hotel.

Not sure what the crack is with Ferrari World, they delayed the opening due to the ruler of RAK falling off the twig last week. Have heard that is is not all functioning yet even if opened as a friend went to the soft launch.

Would imagine it would be chaos if it is open.

Do you play golf? Although that will destroy your budget!

For 2 days I wouldn't bother with a car personally, especially if you intend on having a few drinks.

Not sure what else there is to do in AD to be honest, see what other suggest.

Ferrari World opens on Nov 4. I went the other day to the media opening. Some of the rides weren't running, but as far as I know that was just because of the Sheikh's death.

Out of interest, what made you choose Abu Dhabi over Dubai?

No special reason really.just wanted some place a little bit different.
Ferrari world might have helped a little bit.
It was a impulse buy .

A.D. Hmmmmmm....

I'd go and have a coffee at Emirates Palace - well worth a mooch if you have the time, not a bad place to pop the question if that is what you bought the ring for and you manage to sneak somewhere nice. I'd also go to the Sheikh Zayed grand mosque which is a stunning place.

I wouldn't drive as it is not advisable for visitors, not unless you currently live in Paris or New York and are used to the daily death race.

Fezza world must be worth a visit - though it is a pretty handy cab ride in itself.

After that, er, day trip to Dubai?

Check out Time Out for a detailed overview of what's on, restaurants, bars, etc

http://www.timeoutabudhabi.com/

This place is worth checking out if you have time. It's a car showroom, owned by a well off young Emirati named Adel. The selection of cars is mind blowing, including his Enzo which he proudly displays in the front of the showroom.

Christ, that Adel fella has some serious metal for sale, Veyron, Enzo and an MC12!

The blue Murci is lovely.

You can but I really wouldn't, unless your aspiration is to be an organ donor that weekend.

The driving out here is something else and the stupidiness happen at high speeds.

has this been suggested yet?

I agree with going to see Emirates Palace and your 300 should stretch to a Coffee.
