I find myself in Dubai for the next 4 days somewhat unexpectedly.... anything going on? or anyone fancy meeting for a beer?

I'm staying at Atlantis the Palm, not sure what's around here drinks wise?

Just stayed at the Atlantis, a nice hotel. Definitely go to aquaventure (free entry for hotel guests). It has a few restaurants which are very good but also expensive. Everything else is off the palm which is a pain. Try going to the Marina, there's an area with a whole line of restaurants and maybe bars. I've forgotten what it's called, but if you say Chillis restaurant in the Marina, they'll know.

Expense account? Need a 'client' to meet? I'm sure a bunch of PHers would gladly put themselves forward?

If not I would suggest getting off the palm to Barasti. I believe you can call a water-taxi?

No bars in the Marina, with the exception of the Dubai Marina Yacht club....which I would avoid.
Madinat is a 10 min (or so) cab ride away from the Atlantis, where there are nice bars & restaurants, that must surely (but I'm guessing here)be cheaper than the Atlantis.

Medinat is always worth a punt as well - close by and has a number of options for bars.

Best bar in Atlantis is Nasimi. On the beach, good shisha too. Otherwise, Souk Madinet has a good selection as confirmed on this thread already. Old Town next to the Burj Khalifa has a few too. Barasti is close to Atlantis, gets very busy on the weekends now the weather is getting better.

Well I'm up for a beer in any of them, I can always get a cab from here, it's no problem.

What's people's availability like for tonight or tomorrow?

Tis a no-go from me, sorry.
