GPS for Jordan.
Discussion
I was in Jordan 2 months ago and rented a basic car (Chevy Optra) and opted for the separate sat nav from the rental company. The unit was good, took me from the airport to Jerash with no hassles and then to Madaba hot springs, dead sea and then all the way to Petra. The only hiccup was the final 30 kms to Petra was via a very lonely dirt track and single lane mountain passes, not one of the 2 highways which I was expecting. All that and the low fuel warning light coming on made for some bottom clenching experiences.
I also have a Garmin nuvi 205 - impulse buy at Sharafs a few days ago as it was on offer with 2010 maps of the UAE and on the ad it said Jordan as well. I'd love to go back. Brilliant historical sights (generally) good roads with little traffic outside of Amman.
