I have a sudden, uncontrolable urge to brew my own beer.

Anyone know if there is a place in Dubai to procure the required equipment to bottle or barrel-up hundreds of litres of 'Oilydan's finest Golden Shower' or 'Al Barsha Brain Melter'?

I either need the re-sealable beer bottles like Grolsh or Newquay Steam or bottles that can be re-capped and a capping thingy.

Failing that I'll have a go at some wine and get a corking kit from the UK. Please start saving all your old wine bottles!!

Anyone else fancy a go? It will be ready in time for Xmas....

The grosch bottles can be had from barracuda pre filled, drink contents and reuse.

The Mash Tuns, Spargers can made from a few large plastic buckets and the Boiler can be any old large stainless pot you can put on the stove.

You can also make your own chiller using some old hose and copper pipe.

I might cheat and get a tin. The organic ingredients are more difficult to come by here.

And I would love to drink my way through 3 cases of Grolsch.....actually no, I wouldn't....I don't like it. Feel free to drink some for me and give me the empties, I'll swop them for home brew!!

Righty-ho chaps, I'm well on my way.

Have a brewing kit from the UK and have been to the bottle shop to get a couple of cases of Grolsch. I should be through them in a week or so and can start brewing.

I might delay a bit as the process only takes a few days and then 2 weeks in the bottle so I might start in December to make it a real Christmas brew. Might even add in some Xmassy flavours.

If I stop posting in December I have either gone blind or in ER having guts pumped....

Fantastic - I'm imagining some sort of home made contraption Dr Emmett Brown might knock up.

If this doesn't end in an explosion I will feel let down!

Well, I do run a lab so I'd be pretty annoyed if there was an explosion.

However, there will be lots of pipes, bubbling vats and evil-doctor-laughs.

I am also making my own Sous-Vide bath for slow cooking. So it's either alcohol poisioning or Botulism for me next month....
