There's a boat I've seen...tis on Dubizzle and is silly cheap. The reason is because it's in the UK. Why, I don't know. Anyways, the guy said that if I'm serious we'll chat at lenght about it.

But, why would someone be selloing it here whilst it's in the UK. Surely it'd be worth selling it in the UK at a bargain price rather than having the expense of shipping it over.
Anyone have an idea of the cost?
A part of me thinks it's too cheap and that it may be stolen, or whatever. Do I need to ask for evidence of ownership etc?

Sorry to appear dumb..never done this before.

Cheers.

Mate I would be careful, its the old saying if its too good to be true etc. Dont understand why its advertised on Dubizz? Is the seller based in Dubai? If so and its 100% legit then it could just be that he's trying to sell here as the market back home is still pretty crap.
Thing is there are unfortunatly alot of scammers out there, would you buy a car or a bike that was being advertised the same?? I would never suggest buying anything without looking at it first, especially a boat. There is still a good possibility it could be stolen too as you say or that its nothing like the seller has said and then you wait a month or so for it to turn up and its a complete dog.
Plus you have no comeback if anything goes wrong, if you want to PM me the add i'll happily take a look, just sounds a little fishy to me thats all.

Dunk.

Thanks mate.
No more than 24ft, gotta have an adequate engine (!) be in excellent condition, no more than a few years old, comes with trailer, sun shade and cover. Basically a nice place for 4 or so people to fly around the coast in!
I would like to buy it one day and be out on the water the next.

Oh, and bonus points if they supply a trained skipper and someone to drive it to and from the sea!

Cheers.

ps - I take it you're in Mirdif then? So am I , but obviously Spinneys is Mrs C's department!

Hi mate - ok, no worries. I'm Based in AUH so will be looking at the Spinney's boards over here, but am guessing you would travel for the right boat??

Also assuming you want a V8 stern drive biggrin Or would you consider outboards/Jet boats?

The buying it and going out on it in the same few days is challenging because of the ePassport/Transponder/GPS thing that you have to have (if it wasn't fitted already), and the ID checks that CNIA do on you when you try and register it. But it'll be worth it in the end!

I'll let you know if I see anything suitable.

Forgot to ask...what's your price range?

Inboards, outborads...not really sure. Think I have been advised that an outboard would be better for me!
Price range? Not really sure. Prob a max of 100k.
Thanks again, appreciate it.

Smellier that a smelly thig that trodden in something smelly??? Unless he wants me to pay up front (which he hasn't said) how does this scam work???!!!

Hmmmmmmmm..... He says the boats in the UK but looking at the pics it didnt look very 'uk' to me, also being the sad USA lover i am spotting the chrome on the pick up bumper its attached to, i googled the water mark on the pics and it took me to this guys Ebay page in the states....

http://myworld.ebay.com/ebaymotors/djclassics69

Dj classics looks legit to me, he sold a boat exactly the same but with a red stripe in June for $21 thousand.

I would get more info out of the seller, ask him for serial numbers from the engine and drive units and the hull number, if he cant give you these then walk, if he can PM me the Mercruiser serial numbers and i can check them for you.

Also the dubizz add reads just like its been lifted from ebay or similar.. first line 'Up for auction...'

I dont know mate, its looking fishier than the water it came from.

Boats and the marine industry run in my family not only as jobs but as a hobby and past time, me and my old man especially always encourage new boaters and try and give advice and answer questions when and where we can because so many times new people to the scene get done over or burnt on a bad deal or ripped off and its puts them off boating.

It seems that to many people get scammed with boats but then i guess the same happens with cars but you hear more about the car side.

I would leave this one alone mate to be honest, try to find something in Dubai or the surrounding areas that you can view and meet the owner, possibly sea trial with them. I know its gonna cost a bit more maybe but its your hard earned we're talking about here.

Mate in the shipping biz who will ship a whole boat and trailer from the UK to Dubai for free.... as said above i dont think so!

Have you been down to Dubai Creek and spoken to stuart yet? He would be a good starting point or Extreme Marine in DIMC there is a broker there with some boat sales.

Anything your not sure about mate just ask smile
