Just been quoted 1500AED for a brake booster and 1100AED for a master cylinder for the Wrongler. That's well over double what I was expecting and not far off 10% of the value of the bloody thing!

I know where they got the name for the business now! There should be a space between I and CON.

Have put a call into Trading Enterprises for the OEM costs; anyone know any other 4x4 specialists I could try?

There's a relatively new but utterly clean and professional outfit run by Mark Powell of Team Saluki desert racing fame, in the block next to SARA autocare behind Times Square Centre. Doubt they can do a huge amount with the price, but their courtesy and helpfulness will hopefully dull the pain.

Otherwise, it's a day trawling the back streets of Sharjah. Have fun!

He's on here - will drop him a PM.

I've looked on line and I could get both parts for about $150 delivered if I lived in the states. If it's a day in Sharjah I'll just pay up - though I could probably get a whole new front end for 2500aed!

ETA: just been pmd - now that's service!

I've just had a steering rack and steering pump delivered from the US (not for a jeep), took about 4 days via airmail.

Had to pay 200 aed customs duty at this end and pick them up from post office.

It saved me 5k however on the part cost here so was worth it.
