Hi guys,

I need to ship some stuff back to the UK soon. Not a great deal just a DVD Player, partition/screen, Nintendo Wii, the wifes shoes that kind of stuff. I think sea-freight would be the cheapest method.

Has anyone here done this before? Can anyone recommend a company that can do this?

Thanks in advance.

It looks like hand-carry stuff to me, why not wait 'till you next head back and take it with you on the aircraft?

We had a bit of excess baggage when we came out here and we (or rather the company) had to pay 1378 notes in charges for being 60kg over. Trying to avoid the excess baggage charges this time as I won't be able to claim them back.

All suggestions welcome.

Why not box it up and ship it via DHL or fedex?

Sell the lot on dubizzle.com and buy new stuff in the UK?

Sorry to hear you're leaving Colin. Good to meet you both over here and good luck back in Blighty! smile

Cheers Geoff,

I'll be back in Dubai at some point to pack up my stuff, don't know when yet. I'll give you a bell to see if your free for a beer.

We just used emirates post and sent three boxes. UK customs questionned one of them, but we confirmed that the goods were personal and older than six months. Box arrived a few days later. Was by far the cheapest option.
