Its getting very frustrating living in Qatar, I've now seen two SLS AMG on the roads and my saving for a deposit for one is not going well. To make matters worse we are now getting the first AMG outlet, this will only add to my frustrations.

I saw a lovely dark cherry red one in Dubai last week, the guy was pootling along but gave it a bit of beans when he saw me taking an interest. The sound was amazing, like Brian Blessed in a bar fight.

I'd love to think he was indulging me but he looked a bit scared!

Spotted this beauty while i was in Dubai last week for work, just as i was getting a taxi from Mall of the Emirates. Love how the designer of that place put the taxi ranks next to the valet park.... like salt to a wound....

Theres always special motors there when i go as you can see in the pic the rest of the line up isnt bad! Panermera, RR, V8 Vantage (hidden behind porker) Last time i was there in Feb there was one of those new Lambo SV LP640 last of the line jobs in white.

Had one for a day last week. Cabin is rather cramped inside - especially on headroom for those of a certain stature. As for practicality, I can't really say - measuring the bootspace was the last thing on my mind!

I can report that the performance is rather brisk to say the least, and the gearchanges are spookily smooth even during full-bore shifts.

However, for my money - I'd still have a GT-R.

Have seen an SLS outside the W a few times recently. It's a beautiful motor but it doesnt have the presence of the matt back SLR that's going around Doha just now. I also spotted a Ferrari Superamerica last week. Had to google it as i'd no idea what it was.

The SLR with add-ons is often parked up outside the Intercon, does make a nice noise when its fired up. Still would go for the SLS AMG, in a sick way I want them to fail so the used price will tumble into my budget sooner rather than later.

My SLS spotting has become a lot easier as more and more seem to be on the roads out here, still green with envy everytime I see one. Im looking to buy an old SL so I can get close to the SLS ownership experience.
