I know that popping to the nearest EPCO or having your 'man' wash your car is the easy option.

I've been enjoying the fact that I have been able to wash the cars myself. I couldn't do it while I was in an apartment, but now I have the villa, I have all the things I need. I'm sure when it gets a bit warmer, I'll go back to the usual.

There's something very satisfying about washing cars and cleaning shoes...

Want my address?
I took mine to yellow hat (or something) the other day....came out looking very nice.

Won't be using the supermarket/carpark boys anymore. Failing to hose it down first means the sponge simply turns into a scouring pad....Is that spelt correctly?

I do mine own too, mine you using the rotary buffer can get a little hot even in these temps.

I find it quite calming.

I have also found a place that does proper detailing but haven't checked the price yet.

For the Porsche I use the place behind the petrol station/shops in the shadow of LULU on Umm Suqueim near MOE. The guys take it really seriously so no sandy towels or running the hoover pipe over the bodywork. You tend to see a lot of really nice local metal there too.

The Jeep gets an ENOC about once a month.

The wifes Tolnedo gets what it's given!

I haven't tried there yet even though I'm close in Al Barsha 2.

+1 on the above location. You can drop your car off to either wash and/or polish and then can:

sit in the lounge having a free coffee
sit in macca's, or
sit in Hardee's

job done and they do do a very good job - all three of my cars go there min once a week.

I did wash my car in the underground car parking, but sadly, the floor does not "fall" to the drainage outlet but pooled directly under my cars and I spent more time sweeping the water to the drainage than I did washing the damn car.

AED35 for a hand wash, AED135 for a hand wash and polish (in a sealed a/c controlled, clean kiosk)

Street 22B - if you came off Umm Suqeim road at the right hand turn after the 2nd lights from Lulu, over the little roundabout, take the next right after the lights (that are comepletely pointless) and then first left - that's my road.

Do they do a decent interior valet here? I'm looking for someone to give the inside of my car a decent going over i.e. not just empty the ashtray and squirt some air freshener in it.

Any recommendations?

They do "detailing" as well as just washing/polishing, however, like most places, they will probs need a few days to do that.

Great, thanks for the replies. smile

My colleague recommended a place near the French Bakery but I think I'll try the one that you lot use near Lulu.
