Little tip if your in Bahrain and are buying F1 tickets...
Discussion
This may not be news to anyone on here or if you live in Bahrain but don’t bother doing the logical thing and actually going to the circuit to buy your tickets as i just found out (after I had paid!) they cant actually provide you with the tickets as they cant print them off so you have to go to Seef mall and pick them up from the stand there!!
As i only work 10mins from the track it wasn’t such a wasted journey but one i wouldn’t have made had i known this before hand, Seef mall is not far from where i live but can be a complete arse to get in and out of thanks to all the happy shoppers coming in from the mainland!
End of rant, oh incase anyones interested i only got tickets for the friday, still hoping my work will come through with free race day ones!

Edit: Turns out after my trip to the mall last night the actual F1 tickets won’t be ready for collection till next week? So they issue you with a receipt which you present when picking them up. One bonus is they said I get a free ticket to the aussie V8 touring cars, which I only thought you got if you were buying race day tickets or the whole three day package. Again not gracing my palm yet so not counting that chicken till it’s hatched!!
Bought my tickets online but need to collect them from the Box Office, which Im kinda guessing I'll find once I arrive at the track for race day. How far is the airport from the track? dont land till 12 and hope its not too tight to get in to the track, get tickets, get beverage, get seat and see the start.
(Edit/ just re read obove post where it clearly says 'race day'....) Stupid but obvious question ahead.... are you just coming for the Sunday? Only ask as being race day it will probably be allot more busy.
Theres two ways to go from the airport as well, not 100% on travel time, i would guess 30-45 mins (no traffic...) i will conduct a time trial this week!
There are box office type huts there, also the welcome centre but I havent been to the track for over a week so the build up of the F1 town inside may have changed things! Again i will check for you.
Where are you sitting for the race? Grandstand or Batelco stand? either of these are close to food and drink stands but i dont know whats around the other grandstands.
If you flying with Gulf Air maybe worth checking if they are doing any free shuttle buses from the airport?
I'll find out and let you know!

Coming over from Qatar so going with me local; Qatar Airways, have the air miles to use up. Think the time might be tight but maybe a swift airport taxi will whisk us along to the track and then swap the booking print out for the tickets and get sorted before the green light and race start. Tickets are for Grandstand, hopefully not be stuck at the back but will see what happens; as long as we are there then all is good. Looking forward to the event, then for Abu Dhabi in November to see the close out too.
Right....
Sunday gates open at 9am for chevy supercars and GP2 asia. the F1 race starts at 3pm.
My official guide book for the race says there is free transport from the airport to the track and vise versa.
Airport > circuit available from 6am - 12 noon (every 30 mins)
Circuit > airport available from 3pm - 11pm (every 30 mins)
" a complimentary shuttle service is available from the airport to the bahrain circuit for anyone with a valid F1 ticket."
so i guess from that they mean everyone with the print out receipt. if you take the bus or a taxi when you get out to the track, the main road that leads to it a little way up on the right is a petrol station with a maccy d's, costa etc, just past that on the right is the media/ticket sales collection tent where you will need to go to collect your tickets from. i assume the bus will stop there as im sure there will be others who will need to collect.
i hope this helps! Enjoy the race!!
