Can you drive from Dubai to Doha?

Apparently yes, and I'm told around eight hours. From what I understand, you'll need a Saudi transit visa and the Saudi border can sometimes be a nightmare. And, of course, no women in the car unless they have a relation with them. And they can't drive.

General advice, however, seems to be to just fly, as it's quicker, easier and pretty cheap.
