Dubai visit number two!
Discussion
Flying back out on sunday again for work, this time will be staying at coral beach in sharjah (think the names changed now?) shame i wont be in Dubai again, but at least the outside inn in Ajman is close
Just want to say thanks to everyone who recommended where to go, i was working in DIMC so the Barasti tip was well handy!! Although i couldnt stay out of the malls! apart from the shopping festival everything was allot cheaper than here in Bahrain! Also had a few beers in Vista (i think?) that was on top of my hotel, not cheap but nice rooftop bar!
Been 5 years since i was last in Dubai, living in Mirdif and i can say it was nice to see allot of change and buildings finished that were just holes in the ground, Burj tower being one! and 400dhs to go up it!? F that!
Metro system looks very cool as well!
My only gripe was the f'in taxi drivers!? Im not a fan of getting taxis here or in the uk but every one i got the meter was on different amounts at the start and none of them knew where my hotel was! Anyone know which is the better ones to get? The ones with blue on them or the ones with orange on them or are they all as bad as each other and maybe i should just get a hire car on sunday!? lol!
Oh, and i will say anyone reading this back in the uk or anywhere for that matter whos brain has been washed with tabloid BS, dont knock it till youve tried it!

I occasionaly pop on this part of the forum to see whats what, as since being in Doobye 2 years ago, I have always wanted to get back there and work for a stint.
Remember going for a boozy cocktail night at the Burg, with a Mazzer MC12, F50 and a couple Of AM DB's at the front door....
I thought to myself.... It's not a bad old place....
Also thumbs up for the Barasti.... Grub upstairs then down to the big sofas (if they are still there) to kick back and kick in a few cold ones... Capital...
Wild Waddy's and Ski Doobye for sport based s**ts and giggles....
How hard would it be to get a RHD Tuscan and M5 out there????????

Unfortunately from reading what the guys have said on here and its the same here in Bahrain you cant/not allowed to import RHD motors unless they deem it to be a special/rare/classic type?
I think im right in saying this? Please correct if wrong.
Also you have got to remember that this part of the world is not very kind to cars, dust, heat etc so anything you buy here is already adapted to run is these extremes.
There is plenty of nice metal already here though so maybe not a TVR but im sure you will find something to get your taste buds going!!
Im a massive fan of Yank motors so Bahrain is heaven for me!

Hi Dunk....
Yes, believe that there are 'issues' in getting RHD's out there.... I have read on here and the TVR boards that some have successfully managed to run Tivs out there, but 40+ in summer and I would suspect melting plastic everywhere... Ha ha ha....
Yankie motor? 71 Challenger R/T.... In white!
