Does anyone know anyone with a horse, or owns/works at a stable? The Mrs wants to "rent" a horse for a few months....TO GO HORSE RIDING BEFORE ANYONE STARTS.

Oh, and does anyone know where I can get coke and hookers from on a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday?!

Cheers.

Hookers yes, just got in from the RS, coke though comes in a can and is either fatty or fat free but freely available either way!

My better half has looked into this horse thing and 'riding' can be had at Jebel Ali racecourse or Arabian Ranches Polo Club on a regular basis with little/no commitment.

Those who own horses tend to stable a little further out for a lot less money. I'm told that there is very good desert riding (ask your missus about Phar Lap) around Bab el Shams resort.

Time for bed...

My Mrs has just conned, I mean persuaded me that she should get a horse. The future can of pet food is based out at the Desert Equestrian Centre, which while basic is pretty well situated for 'riding out' I think they call it.

Apparently their rates are pretty cheap compared to the other stables, 80Dhs a lesson or 100Dhs for an hour out in the desert.

If your Mrs was interested I could PM you my Mrs mobile number (I can see this getting some interest from the PH membership) she is always out at the stables so I am sure would be pleased to help.

PS I have cleared this with my Mrs
PPS I have not warned her about the inevitable comments PMing her mobile number will bring.

You head out of Dubai past the Dragon Mart/International City and turn left at the next roundabout (directions from the wife get garbled at this point). It is close to Dubai Municipality Vet Services.

Essentially very close to the dunes, it has an arena and grass area for lessons.

Takes 'er indoors about 35 minutes or so to get there from the Meadows.

Might try and find it tomorrow as I've a meeting at a bus depot on the Hatta road anyway - the lady wife has been talking about it for ages and it would be good to get her out of the house at the weekends so that I can fully concentrate on my hangovers.

I've been there before - it's the old polo club - not a bad place.

Not sure about the directions but I have a feeling that you turn right before you get to the next r/b after Dragonmart - it's been a long time though so I could be very wrong.

OK, here are some more detailed instructions, from the Mrs mind you.

Turn left at the first roundabout after Dragon Mart
Straight over the next 2 roundabouts
Turn right at the speed camera
1st left
Stables is 200m ish on your right

Or you could call a lady called Anna who manages the place on 050 3099770
