Did anyone go to Abu Dhabi yesterday?

We went for the evening mainly to see the fireworks. Well, after 3 hours sitting in a traffic jam, we got out and walked 10 mins to the Corniche. We missed the fireworks though, but wanted to see if anyone saw them, as given we were only 10 mins away we thought we might have seen them...I'm thinking the biggest display the world has ever sen didn't happen!

Friends saw it from Emirates Palace, said it was good.

I couldn't be bothered, loads of traffic.

Was it bigger than the "top of the bubble" show? If so, must have been some show. I was gambling in Macau so missed it.

Beirut, I think, is the nearest. Am combining that and some skiing in January/February time.

Macau is closer than Vegas and a good break. Trouble is that last time I was up and left money in HKD so went in with a wallet load of cash and was a bit like going to a supermarket hungry - got a bit reckless and lost most of my previous winnings ...
