Would anyone have a rough idea of the number of residential dwellings there are in Abu Dhabi.

There's a lot of variation in the usual stats sites!

Cheers

I doubt even the government have a correct number. The general consensus though is: not enough!

Yep.

It's for Abu Dhabi city rather than the entire Emirate.

From what I have found, it looks like there's about 950,000 people living in the city so a standard metric of around 2.4 per home would suggest around 400,000 properties. Does that sound right?

Not sure if a standard occupancy rate would work as a multiplication factor here as the demographics are not representative of a normal society i.e there must be much higher rates of single occupancy for single professionals and even a lower ratio of children per household for both unmarried and married couples.

Are high occupancy groups including labourers and low wage service industry workers included in that pop figure too?

Thanks for the input chaps.

Seems that the assumption that the government does know is about right but estimates put the figure at around 350k to 380k so I wasn't far out.
