Oman - Dollars or Euro's

As title suggests... which is best to take - not so from an exchange rate point of view, but which is more widely accepted...?

I'd guess Dollars, but Riyals (Sp?) would be better still...

Dollars - the Omani Riyal is pegged to it, therefore should be easiest to use/change.

Last time I was there neither was accepted in shops etc. But as said above the Rial is pegged to the US$ approx (and I mean appprox) 1OR = 0.5GBP

Using Rials... but Oman, what a crazy place! Just been quad biking in the dunes, and watched a bunch of mad arabs trashing their 4x4's!
