Hi all

I have a day stopover in dubai at the end of Nov whilst awaiting my connecting flight. My flight arrives at 00:15 and departs at 22:00 the following evening. I have booked a hotel to get some shut eye, but can anyone recommend things to do / places to see during the day bearing in mind i want to get to the airport in plenty of time for my flight.

Shopping, excursions, motor related etc...

Also will i need a visa for the stopover as a british national?

Thanks

No visa required.

If you have 1 day I would suggest a visit to the old souq, a ride across the creek on an abra, a helicopter/seaplane tour or just wile away the hours at Irish village in the airport drinkdrinkdrinkdrink

Leave the airport by Metro and take a ride down the SZR taking in the views of the city. Get off at Mall of the Emirates and go skiiing for an hour. On the way back get off at Financial Centre and get a taxi or bus over to Dubai Mall and wander out to the lake fountain to stand at the bottom of the Burj Dubai which will be weeks away from opening then. After that back to the Metro and off at Union station for a wander over to the creek, go on the abra up and down etc....

....then go to the Irish Village and drink beer in the sunshine!
