I did it two years on the trot in 2003/4. Drove from Aberdeen to Le Mans, the first year in a Dax Rush and the second year in an Elise. Best two weeks ever - and we got to see Bentley win as well!
Absolutely fantastic week both times and I really can't recommend it highly enough. No other sporting event comes close for me. There is so much going on apart from the actual race itself, drive the course, see the drivers parade, the paddock after the race, driving down through France with all the exotica etc.
Best moment? Getting a finger wagged at us by a Gendarme for doing over a ton on the Mulsanne on the morning of the race
Do it, even if only once, do it and you will be raving about it for years.

DXB-AMS-NCL Tuesday, picked up Tusc 2 'vert from Hexham, onto N'Castle-Ijmuiden ferry Tuesday evening, drive to Brugge Wednesday, stayed overnight, Thursday morning off down the hill via Calais and joined all the other (very sensible!!!!) troops on the road to Le Mans.
Staying in Saint Saturnin, just watched the parade des pilotes and stuffed out on seafood in the Tavern.
So good to be here - looking out for LNT/Ginetta.
