Hi all - just arrived in Abu Dhabi a few days ago...would really like to speak to anyone who's done any flight training over here...or people who have a license already and fly over here.

Looking for costs per hour etc and recommendations for a flight school.

Cheers,
J.

Hi,

there are a few flying clubs around. One at the main Dubai airport, one in Fujairah and one in Um Al Quwain that i know of. Possibly one in Ras Al Kaimah and one in Al Ain. Try a search on google.

My advice would be to head for UAQ as the airspace and airport will be a less restrictive place to learn.

Guessing a bit on costs, but i reckon in the region of 600 - 700 dhs per hour.

Rgds.

Thanks Khaosai...much appreciated. Going to see if there's anything at Al Bateen Airport too.

I once checked out FUJ international airport. They had a 2 week residential course costing about $2000 all-in.

Also do Cessna hire at about $100 per hour.

Was very tempted but Mrs Oilydan says she wouldn't fly with me frown, she says driving with me is questionable at the best of times so why the hell would going faster at a few thousand feet be any better. smile
