israel car / 4x4 hire

Can someone please direct me to a cheap 4x4 hire company in Israel? Doesn't matter where, we'd be flying into Tel Aviv but moving round a fair bit.

Its a holiday, so a day's hire to go desert trekking would be cool, but I am really looking for a decent price for 2 vehicles for 7days hire.

The main companies [avis, europcar] seem hideously expensive, so a local outfit would be good. Brand new landcruisers or 20yr old landrovers, as long is they're reliable I don't much care.

Cheap car/mpv hire would be ok, but really needs to be 4x4 for maximum holiday fun

Any ideas?

Phil - if you have any intention of coming to any of the islamic ME countries, make sure you don't get a stamp directly in your passport - I believe that you can have it put on a separate peice of paper.

Sorry if I'm teaching you to such eggs.

We won't be going out of the country, but I am aware of passport issues as one of our party has been to islamic countries before and has been advised to get another to avoid hassle.
