I'm new to Dubai, and still staying in a hotel. Can anyone recomend somewhere to watch the F1 this evening? Will any of the hotel bars be showing it? Even better - is there a group already meeting to watch it that they don't mind billy-no-mates who's lived in Dubai 2 weeks joining them? wink

I watched in Aussie Legends in the Rydges Plaza Hotel, Satwa.

Very good bunch and the noise was deafening on the last lap.

Have been going there a while as they always record the race and then have a showing at 8pm later that evening if it is in working hours (which they all are/were bar Brazil, the US & Canada)

Find it very hard to keep away from news sources and have to remember to turn the radio off in the car on the way there!.

I watched at home on Jazeera Sports, and with my very rudimentary Arabic was probably the most confused man on earth in the dying seconds.

It looks like it's all over for the boy. He seems to pass some very slow back markers on the last corner, (are they back markers, is it Vettel, Glock, Moss, Surtees, flippin' eck what is going on?), Massa is punching the air as he crosses the line, the partisan crowd is roaring, the commentator is screaming in Arabic, the Ferrari garage is going wild, the McLaren garage is going wild, the commentator is practically in hysterics, and now Hamilton is punching the air.

Will someone please tell me for the love of God what just happened? biggrin

I had to jump onto PH to get a real time download of what was actually happening (the thread had got to 118 pages by that stage, phew!)
