how difficult is it to purchase a property in thailand

hi guys,

I'm looking into the possibility to buy a small studio (1-room flat) in koh samui (thailand).
I'm resident in switzerland but I often go on holiday there.
How hard would it be to go through a property purchase there ? How would the payment be handled ?

If anybody knows anything about it....it would be appreciated!
