Looked into it, decided against for various reasons.
First one being the cost, you’re looking at £15k min. for a ppl which is terrifically poor value.
Second one being there’s nowhere to fly when you do have it as the airspace is severely (block capitals and 50’ flashing letters) restricted.
You can get a sport pilot license from Umm al quwain but that’s also a massive compromise in that’s it’s restricted to ultralights and the same small rectangle of airspace above UAQ.
I don’t see any point having a license you can’t use, especially given the massive premium you’d pay to obtain it.
