I’m looking to sell my current 2010 Prado and replace with a 78/79 Series LC.

The Prado could do with a few small bits of interior trim replacing, and rather than trying to source through the ridiculous AF systems, with hefty margins, I’m wondering if I could pick some of these parts up from local breakers.

Also, with the new LC project, there’s some bits and pieces I would want to modify, and rather than cut up a brand new car, wanted to pick up used bits to modify.

I’m also after a set of new seats, Recaro’s specifically, to update the abysmal comfort of the LC’s.

Any recommendations for breakers around the UAE? There’s plenty in Dhaid, and Sharjah, but personal experience is appreciated.

Head out on the Emirates Road, past Sharjah to Saja'a Industrial Area on the right. Easy to Google.

That's where they shifted most of the breakers from Sharjah. You'll find row after row of breakers yards, mostly divided into Make or Region.

It is then just a case of asking and being directed from one to another. Of course they know once you've made the journey out there that you need the part, so be prepared to negotiate...

I've found all the random parts I've ever needed out there...

Thanks Matt.

Guess it’s a case of taking the tools and being prepared to get the bits off the car yourself?

Might head down there this weekend, before it gets too hot.

Thought you were going to show us somebody cutting up an Emirates A380.

Have to say, I am disappointed...hehe

Sorry only just seen this - you’ve maybe already headed down there!

No, no need for tools, they’ll pull what you want for you - although sometime reluctant to break to really small parts if there is value is something bigger... I.e. electric seat switches if they think they can sell the seat.
