Does anyone have any first hand experience of having interior refurb work done in UAE?

I'm specifically looking for a sagging headlining to be fixed, but I'm also considering playing with the existing interior colours on the car a little which would involve replacing leather/alcantara.

Thanks.

Lots of experience..and all very positive.

If you are in Dubai then try Spectra or Leathero

In Abu Dhabi try Al Marzouqi

The results have acutually been alot better than I have seen back in the UK.

I've used Sara Auto in Al Quoz (Dubai), great service, great price. Took the car there from Abu Dhabi, as I couldnt find anyone here.

(although reading the above, I have a lead now)

Did you follow up on this? Need seats and door cards cleaning / minor repair. Prefer a knowledgeable place as I do t think lotus use proper leather so I'm worried if they use high strength cleaners it'll go awry

I'm planning to use Majestic in Dubai - it would seem that's who Aston 3rd party it out to anyway so I'm hoping for a good finish.

I haven't had the work done yet however, still passing the quote back and forth as I'm getting a lot of small jobs done at the same time.

Just dropped everything at Sara. They had a couple of cars there which I recognised as belonging to people I know which was heartening. Collecting Thursday will post up results

Great minds... I dropped my TVR wedge there on Saturday morning for an interior refresh. I'll maybe meet you on Thursday when I'm due to collect too!

I'll check with them on Weds, but will try and aim for maybe 11ish on Thurs.

Yes, it is the one for sale earlier this year. The previous owner bought it new in Dubai way back when, finally decided it was time to sell it on.

Summer project... I bought this to just run as my previous summer projects have all turned into ongoing annual sagas!

That said Ben at AAA has already sorted out the engine cooling and got the AC running. I have a 'megasquirt' system in the mail and of course the interior touch-up this week... its a sickness!

Would be good to see any pics of work done, seems to be a fairly regular request and I've only seen the showcase work on companies advertising pages.

Rover v8, shame I just sold a DTA setup for a rover v8, you got a trigger wheel setup to run the mega squirt

No worries I'll try and post some indicative pictures. Just a clean up and re-colour on mine with one panel repair.

I had a new interior in leatherette done in the 356 via AAA and that seemed a good job too

Sorry for the thread jack!

Yes on the trigger wheel setup, I've bought a full system from MS2 tuning in the UK, MS2, VW Coil packs, Wideband lambda etc. I also got a full 14CUX system to plunder parts from as mine is an early NCK 420 engine with the old 4CU flapper system.

Not sure where to go for assistance with the install here but should be fun trying!

Collected my bits today, didn't see the wedge so assume you've collected it?

9/10 from me. The door cards tunnel and pax seat are like new. The tunnel itself was showing a lot of wear and damage and it's remarkable how they've managed to remove all that and have it looking factory fresh. Also the perforated gear and handbrake gaiters which were tatty and grimy are now pristine.

Only small niggle is some wear on the drivers seat (which I thought would be a cinch compared to the other parts) which has been missed. Needs reconnolising and colour. Going to take that seat back and see what the issue is.

I ran down there early Saturday to pick the Wedge up before the Lions match...

I'd go a 9/10 too especially given what they had to work with. The photos aren't great as I was rushed and overheating - not the car, the car was great in the heat, but currently if I hit the AC it won't idle, hopefully we'll ne able to sort that with the Megasquirt.

Here are some pics of the work, the cleaned and recoloured it all, inc headlining, pillars, etc, repaired two torn panels, one on the drivers seat, one on the passenger doorcard, you couldn't tell.

The removed the soft top, blackened the inner lining as it was stained, recover the tan piece at the back.

The leather was a bit 'flat' on the doorcards in places but it came up well.

So all in all very happy - some roof down shots to come when I get some time smile

Can i ask what tge cost was for that work on your wedge?
Ive just bought a cheap CHEAP xc90 to kart the dog around in...externally in good order but the interior is a right state.
Dont want to spend a lot on it because its just not worth it.

OR....does anyone have any experience of buying a kit and doing it themsleves?
Sanding, filling, colouring, sealing etc?
Might give it a go working on the idea that i would struggle to make it worse.

Not looking for perfection but it would be pleasant to have it looking a less knackered.
