Chaps, a friend has a Bentley Continental which needs a bit of work. Some interior refurb for which I have recommended Max or Sara Autocare. He's also asking if Max can replace cracked front bushes. My instinct is not to use Max for such a job although happy to be corrected.

Any Bentley specialists? Do DAS work on them? Alex Renner?

In case you're wondering, he's done with the main dealer - there's clearly a hefty stupidity tax applied to all jobs there (gluing the rear headlining back in place is a quote of AED6000!!).

Any leads appreciated.

I am sure DAS (Deutches Auto Service Centre) would be able to do the job. Best bet is for your mate to take the car round there and ask for Heiki.

DAS have done several engine out service jobs on these cars there's usually one in for the same job (vac pipe replacement !) each time I've been there. Bushes shouldn't be an issue just make sure it goes to msw after for a proper geo

Steer him clear of Max and Sara. I have experience of both with my Ferrari and Bentley. To the point they both caused damage to my cars.

For interior work use Car Seat and ask for Harry. His work is second to none. For mechanical work I'd recommend Saluki.

Interesting response. I had Max do the interior refurb on my integrale. It was an excellent job and very good value. I do appreciate however they have a lot of cars crammed into a tiny space and something of a cheap feel to the place. They need the usual customer supervision/harassment but nothing I wouldn't expect to do at any other Dubai industrial workshop. It helps to speak Urdu/Hindi. wink

On the other hand, Harry the Car Seat guy. Hmm... If it's the same guy I'm thinking of (and I'm pretty sure it is), the guy is a crook and weapons grade bellend. I wouldn't do business with him regardless of the quality of his work.

Agree on Saluki. Always been happy with them.

Another shout for Saluki - I know they have been looking after at least one other Conti, and dare I say it, a lot of the stuff underneath is very similar to VW/Porsche...

Ha..that's for sure..there are some awesome trimmers in Dubai. Max has its ups and downs and is in the middle of moving to a new premises. For all their screw ups, they are good guys at heart and generally put things right.

I heard Color Glo is the place to go for interior work. I've used Sara but wouldn't go back as they caused some damage to my car.

Morning James.

Funny how when these posts crop up, I say DAS and you say Saluki. Some people might think we have links to these garages.... No doubt about it though, DAS & Saluki know what they are doing and are known entities to us.

Has Mark got his "old" buggy finished yet?....................

Depends..the Abu Dhabi branch is not that great for trim work. Try Spectrum or Leathero. Both have done awesome work for me quite recently

Sara did a great job for me at very reasonable prices. But I guess individual experiences may differ. They had a lot of high end cars in there when I put mine in.

I am pleased with the outcome. Lots of little bits and pieces fixed and a very fair price for the work. Were also very open to my ideas for sourcing spares such as A|C compressor etc.

Will be sure to use them again for my Land Rover and Range Rover needs..

I changed my mind..turns out they missed a tonne of stuff on the drive train and have no interest in tackling any of it.

I was a bit surprised at the last bit seeing as I just placed an order overseas for some very very tasty Defenders and had hoped these guys would maintain them once they arrived.

Yet another reason to just set up my own thing and run it properly...
