Dubai - Temporary Furnished Apartment

I've got something lined up for a January start and so now need to start finding somewhere to live temporarily until our belongings arrive by boat (and we find somewhere suitable to rent long term).

I've made a few provisional enquiries with some of the serviced apartment hotels in Tecom but they're wanting what I see as quite a lot of money (13k Dhs for a 1 bed per month).

Does anyone have any suggestions or know of anywhere reasonable to rent for a few months?

Have you tried the grand millennium in tecom? All work newbies stay there, iirc company pays 7-8k a month for a very large 1bed

I'll drop them an email thanks. On reflection I think my best bet would be to rock up and stay with a friend for a few weeks and go in person to negotiate some of these places.

I'll also see what the new employer are offering initially.
