What do you do at weekends?
Discussion
Cycling, fishing, dune bashing (bikes or 4x4), wadi driving, running, sunbathing, paddle boarding, kit surfing, canoeing, beach, hiking, bbq'ing, camping, anything outdoor exercise related. Or indoor as well, boxing, gym, cross-fit etc etc. Or brunches. The list is endless.
As Shirt said, summer is almost over, the fun starts and one can be outside without melting in 5 minutes.

Do you always answer questions with questions?
All your posts to date are negative in tone or quick quips/knocks against others. There is so much to do here, its just a case of getting off your arse. If you are bored here then you'd be bored anywhere. You either have a lack of friends (understandable) or imagination (self evident). Friday, took the boy out for breakfast....fry-up for me, milkshake and pancakes for him.
Back home after a trip to Spinneys, then took both kids to Mirdiff to the Play Nation area. Loved it.
Back home for Motogp FP, then outside to wash the car....lost the sponge during the house move, so had to use a kitchen cloth....luckily the car is small (Denali) so only took a couple of hours!
Saturday, was a breakfast at Bab-Al-Shams place, followed by a swim at the pool. Home by mid afternoon, where MotoGP qualifying was on the tely. Baby had a nap, boy and I watched the Motogp. Playing with the kids, bit of dinner, kids go to bed...a couple of hours in fromt on the tely.
What's not to like?

For me:-
Friday 6am cycling around Al Quadra. Followed by a nap and then an afternoon BBQ.
Saturday 6am-ish stand-up paddle boarding, followed by a nap and then a few hours in the afternoon on the motorbike smashing some dunes and pulling the occasional wheelie. Early evening I washed the car and said motorbike. Even hung out the washing as well. All round productive weekend.

Friday went to Claridges for drinks to celebrate the million pound week my team had, stayed for cocktails and met a Russian lingerie model, Saturday we kite surfed off sandbanks before brunch and then popped over to take delivery of her Laborghini. Usual gym and then a quick 5k before dinner and watched the sunset from her penthouse. Sunday the same with water skiing and a longer gym session with a bit more running and gym before doing s quick pre gym run. Did I mention the gym?
I prefer the septic tank
Still livin the dream

Plenty to do around here. For a petrolhead (this is Pistonheads after all) this is probably the best place on the planet.
So true. Always find it strange when UK-based PHers say the UAE has boring roads and nothing to do. We've got 2 FIA approved circuits within a short commute, an excellent grass roots racing scene (at least there was, I hope there still is), lots of exotica pootling around for us to gawp at (albeit not necessarily the sign of a petrolhead in this part of the world), and on our doorstep one the most enjoyable roads one might ever experience (Jebel Hafeet).Harris_I said:

yes, and add to that an almost unlimited amount of desert and water to thrash around in whichever motorized vehicle one fancies. Although it's apparent that a lot of brits only see the inside of fake traditional British pubs and moan about the weather (in reverse capacity)
Help run a motorbike and car racing team, run said website for said car racing team, crew chief for Bahrain Superbike Championship, just finished helping a team in at the Barcelona 24hr race, cycling (NAS or Al Qudra), occasional desert bike ride. So all in all, feck all to do other than brunches.........
Hopefully OP has some good pointers now!
As has been mentioned, Dubai has a lot to offer if you go out and enjoy it. I've been here almost 4yrs now and there is nothing better than driving home on a Thursday evening (well usually early afternoon), sun setting, music on and wind / AC in your hair.
Last weekend comprised of;
Thursday Evening "carnivore club" with work mates. Few beers in the Dhow&Anchor before heading up to La Parilla for a tasty steak whilst enjoying the Colombian dancing. Then down to uptown bar for a cheeky frosted mojito.
Friday morning, my morning up with the little dude. Across the road for an early morning dip in the pool, then back over for a bbq breakfast. Friday afternoon over to City Walk to take the wee man to Mattel play town (which is excellent) then back home early doors. Cheeky run round the local lake then home to chill out with a flick.
Saturday morning, out for breakfast with friends before enjoying a beach / pool / gym afternoon at a plush hotel. Saturday evening I gave the cars and bike a good clean then sat in my underpants watching footy.

I never had a dull moment in the UAE. Head back to the UK - the epitome of dull!
As mentioned above there's so much to do. The weather makes a huge difference to daily life. This weekend (UK) I barely left the house because it was non-stop p***ing down and miserable. You just need to get out there and make the effort.
