car hire with just debit card
Discussion
I know the owner of Calder rent a car. I was actually at the races with him on Saturday. Is a top bloke.
Always point people in his direction for hire cars. Never, ever had a problem.
They meet you at airport, and collect from airport (or whereever you want to drop off).
Also with regards to the deposit - they only block your card. They don't actually take and refund the money (providing your bank has that facility).

Thats how a credit card works, but a debit card works differently from experience. The times I've done it the card ends up blocked by the bank (have to phone them up and ask to let me use it again). These were with car companies that officially take a credit card - I had to kind of beg and plead them to put a block on my debitdxbtiger said:

manual figos are awesome btw, pick of the underpowered underwheeled hire car fleet.

As for the Phantom, not my style, I can feel a truck coming on but I can't commit, hence slowly dying a death in the rental.
