Anyone know if you must have a valid Emirates ID card to transfer the owner of a vehicle at the testing centre? My ID has been under renewal for a while now (seems there is a bit of a backlog) and I don't have the paper receipt as it's all done by my employer. Can you just use a copy of your visa from your passport instead?

I would get the Emirates ID application number and print off a copy of the Application form from the website.

The AD Traffic Department would not renew my vehicle license without proof of Emirates ID application.

If its Dubai they need either the physical EID card (for the chip on the end) or the original application form, unless you know someone of course and they will ignore those things!

in dubai they normally do EMID or PP/Visa. Abdab seem a lot more strident on these things though as they don't like people working in the capital but living elsewhere.

Mmm, tryed it yesterday and computer said no...

Seems you must have the actual id card or it can't be done. Application form is not enough
