Hi guys, Ill be heading out shortly and have tried to get an idea of what sort of cars are about for sale. Ideally I won't want to be spending more than 5-7k (GBP) so was thinking that old land cruisers/patrols and similar might be available, but websites don't seem to have a great deal of accurate info or consistent pricing when it comes to older cars.

I don't want to take finance on a new car, and I would prefer something big enough to win should there be a bump and quick enough to negotiate the traffic (I have driven in Qatar so know a little of the middle eastern driving 'standards').

Any info from someone in the region would be great, cheers.

Best idea is to lease or rent, cars in KSA have rarely been looked after and the convenience of a replacement car when you inevitably have your first smash will be a godsend. Also makes it easy for paperwork for driving to Bahrain and will include insurance and servicing.
