Sorry for more of the mundane non-car questions but may be useful for the other lurkers.

We need to get the AC cleaned and founds reference to Saniservice on expatwoman. Got a call from the wife who said they just came, took photos and showed her (filthy apparently) and 3500AED to do (3 bedroom villa in AR).

Anyone had any experience of them or recommend anyone?

While a lot, I am happy to pay provided it is worth it but equally any other recommendations would do.

Thanks in advance

I think they will probably do a good job, but a word of warning. They inspected my friends aircon system, did the photo's put it into a report etc with lots of scare mongering, and his system did look terrible, not been cleaned for years and spores all over the grills etc, large build up of dust in the pipes, blah blah. He let them clean it and they did a good job.

I got the same guys in and they did the same report, almost word for word! However my photo's were absolutely fine, nowhere near as bad as his (they even asked me if I had the system cleaned recently!), but my quote to 'fix' all the 'urgent problems' was the same as his, even though it didn't need doing at all (found out landlord does it ever year for free).

So check that your system really is that bad before believing everything they write in their report.

Thanks

SWMBO just forwarded me the report - some of the photos do look yuk so definitely needs cleaning.

AED3400 and they are booked out for 3 weeks so they must be doing something right I suppose.

As is the way of PH, I had a look on the Internet and the concept of how to clean them seems straightforward. The issue is me breaking something and the time/mess and stuffing it up most likely

They seem to be the default choice in JVT when people ask for a recommendation on the FB page

Yup, thought would do mine, removed one of the grills to get access to the ducts, as was taking it out a lump of concrete came out with it, gave up on the idea and got maintenance in to do it instead!
