I'm organising a boys trip to the AD GP in Nov. We know UAE well, but this is first trip to the GP. Will split time between Dubai & AD, may just get a car from Dubai to AD for the race etc.

What are peoples view of the hospitality offerings? Any good? Any recommendations (good or bad)?

thanks

There bars between the grandstands so you can get a drink, some have a view of the big screen that any ticket holder can use.

The more expensive tickets get you into air con boxes on stop of the north stands so you can drink and watch the race.

the drive down from Dubai is OK and you get a parking pass when you buy 2 or more tickets, apart from all the mental UAE drivers which seem to be out in force for the race weekend.

Agree with Jason's comments, although I dont know that the North offers such a good viewing point as South, Marina or West IMHO.

Also, whilst you get a parking ticket we always end up paying for parking 100AED per day, and can then pack across the road behind the grandstand, saves the 45min bus transfer. home to grandstand on race day was 25mins last year. Cant see you getting much better.

Thanks for the comments. We'll not drive, rather get a taxi. Have had a look at the ticket offerings and think will go for something with access to a box. Think 3 days may be too much, so probably just a two day ticket

Agreed 3 days of solid drinking is a bit too much, 2 days is the sensible choice smile

On Friday the grand stands are empty, Saturday you get a turn out for qualifying and that's it, Sunday most people just turn up for the GP not the support races.

Taxis are getting better, but the average AD taxi driver does not even know the event is on.
