Has anyone had any experience with soda or walnut blasting in the UAE? I've seen a coupe of YouTube videos that show a pretty average job (the interior was not removed), but I've not heard any first hand experiences.

I am thinking of undertaking a restoration that would involve removing some hideous fiberglass body kit, returning to bare metal and fabricating a lot of new sheet. If anyone has been brave enough to do this, I'd love to hear about your build.

I've been down to Sarra Garage in Al Quoz (behind Times Square). Not impressed, although it is worth a look as they have some great cars int he shop.

GPH is generally the place for asking about this kind of thing. More men in sheds building cars. There's a few on there who have done major projects in both GRP and steel.

I had my aluminium bicycle frame soda blasted last year. The finish was very good, with a nice keying for primer, plus didn't take any of the material away.

I'll DM you his number.

Can you DM or post up any contacts for different types of blasting / acid dipping / etching , might come in handy.

I have a sand blaster and a fabrication team, let me know your requirements we may be able to help.

He did, in the end I don't think the result where to Boyters level of OCD though.
