Overnight parking - Abu Dhabi
Discussion
Can anyone suggest somewhere safe (i.e I won't come back to a car shaped sand castle or have SUV inflicted square corners ) to leave the car overnight in AD, preferably near to Khalifa Park? Off to a desert camp overnight type thing and the tour company picks up from around there. Not sure if you can leave a car in the car park there overnight, seems that it closes after 11pm?
Cheers

Not sure I have a good answer, but a couple of ideas.
1) if it closes after 11pm, then arent you OK anyway, as you'll pick up next day when open.
2) we've always driven to the dessert camps ourselves, it saves on the bus journey (I dont like buses), if you ring and ask, or search google maps, most of the AD companies can be found. (who are you going with)
3) Take a taxi, they arent expensive, and easy to get with the new phone app, then you dont have to worry about the car at all.
4) OK, I'm out of ideas, try a nearby road, that doesnt have residents parking and put it on an end slot?
Enjoy!

twofour54 is in/next to Khalifa park. Plenty of outdoor parking that is free to use - either around the coloured buildings, or the Park Rotana complex. Don't try to sneak into the underground car parks though as security has tightened up on that.
Just be sure you're actually parked in a space, not squeezed up on the pavement etc. Although the area is 'free parking' the traffic wardens still patrol and are happy to ticket anyone not parked properly.
