Tell me about Abu Dhabi

Mrs RM is likely to be asked by the firm she works for to head up a small project team working for a big well-known local company in Abu Dhabi for a minimum of six months, possibly up to two years. It'll be her choice, she can say no. It'd be less than ideal for us domestically (but do-able) but pretty good career-wise. She might be able to swing two weeks out, one week working from home.
So what is it like there? She'd be very much focused on the work, she usually does long hours but she will have down time at the weekends. Any issues to be aware of? Any tips, experiences you can share? I understand it's an expensive place but it'll be all expenses paid. If there's anything you'd rather not post in a forum feel free to pm.
It's a part of the world in which I have zero knowledge other than that gained through the media which I doubt is the best guide and I like to hear from people who have been there and done it. Thanks in advance.

Make sure she gets there before end of March, then do at least 12 months, then zero tax, provided she watches her days in the UK.
