Not very car related but since moving here ive never needed to visit the dentist (something I absolutely hate doing) however at the F1 in November (see related it to cars!) being a drunken idiot and falling over a wall I shattered a tooth, now fortunately its given me no issues till about 2 nights ago.

Last night could hardly sleep and I really cant take anymore pain killers as im right on the limits of whats going to cause me issues.

So reality, I must go and get my mouth drilled open, anyone got any personal suggestions on who to use?

Thanks in advance.

Having searched all morning ive finally found the al futtaim authorised lists of dental practices, non of which fill me with any confidence.

Will sort out an appointment at Dubai London clinic.

is Dr Shenoy on the list? based in satwa or motor city. he does my dental work and that of most of my colleagues. he also fudges the billing to comply with your insurance policy. e.g. ours covers emergency only, everything i have done has been an emergency funnily enough.

just make sure you get the man himself. graduated from the new york school of dentistry.

Dr Bamboat in Jumeirah. I am a dental phobic (sp??) and he is brilliant. Treats you like a 5 year old and is very, very good. I will never go to anyone else.

Cheers Shirt and Chilli neither are on the list!

The list is very much karama, satwa, deira based. I know why no one will have them on the list as they are a nightmare to pay anyone.

Seriously, see Dr Bamboat (or Bamby) and you will thank me. The most placid, calmest man you'll ever meet. I swear, he has given me injections before, and I didn't even know he'd done it.

Work has significantly downgraded my medical since I joined, (what a surprise) but i've been to Geoff a few times and for something like dental, I don't mind paying someone I trust. I think I can claim back a proportion, but happy to pay the difference personally..

I can't reccomend Dr Amer at Dental Spa on beach road enough. I hated the dentist and had not been for way too long, in the last year I have had two teeth rebuilt, about 12 fillings and Invisalign done with him. I honestly never felt any pain with any of it the man is a genius. He qualified up the wazoo and teaches in Europe and US

I need to find one here as well... my only issue is that is has to be one who can do a general anaesthetic as I cannot cope with anyone poking around in my mouth at all.

Yeah im not a fan of that either! Its when needles come out that I totally brick it.

Went to see Dr Evan today, pleasant guy and very professional, regrettably my tooths heavily infected so a week of antibiotics then I need surgery to remove it, not idea!!

Haha I wasn't expecting so many recommendations, time was an issue so went with the first one lol.

Yeah its not great, in a s*it load of pain but need to wait for the drugs to work. My own fault I shouldn't have left it for so long after breaking it.

I was the same, Amer is great I was amazed at the complete lack of pain. About 6 of my fillings were done with lasers, no drilling no needles no nothing and done in about 5 mins a tooth completely painlessly. Did I mention the smoking hot nurses yet?
