Non owner selling car
Discussion
Hi all,
Long time lurker here. I've been in Duba for a few years ibut on Pistonheads for some time before that.
Anyway, I hope one of you may know an answer on selling a car for my daughter.
She is leaving Dubai in the next few weeks and is selling her car. If it doesn't sell , does she have to transfer it to me so that I can sell it as the owner or can it stay in her name and I sell it for her.
I believe she has to transfer it to me but I was thinking that one of you may have e pereinced this before and may know if there's an options or me to sell it.
Thanks ,
Shanny

In all honesty whilst you can do a no objection letter you'll find a lot of buyers will walk away (I certainly would) so given the tiny cost involved in transferring into your name, along with the fact that the number of owners isn't recorded here means I'd just go to RTA and put the thing in your name, it's just easier!!

A legal document does exist for it I just cant remember the name, the owner has to go and do it so its all legit. Changing owners will cost a bit as need insurance to be in the new owners name too.K50 DEL said:
I actually have a friend's Maserati to sell at the moment.... last thing we did before he left the country was to put it in my name, the cost of the insurance is small potatoes as you get a pro-rata rebate for every day cancelled.
Which company is that through? Typical ones we deal with either return rock all or about 10% of a years cost if your lucky!After_Shock said:
