Car Audio Options
Discussion
If I have to listen to the 'Darling I promise I won't have for a third meal out this month hahahaha' advert on the radio many more times I am going to drive my car off the side of Garhoud at full pelt!
My current head unit doesn't have iPod connectivity and those radio transmitter things are frankly crap, I've tried two.
CD's get scratched and lost so I want to replace the head unit (Double Din) for something that I can connect an iPod with.
Doesn't need to be flash, not planning on upgrading any speakers, amps etc, not looking to win any shows or annoy my neighbours with a bazillion watt system, I just want clear digital music.
Yellow Hat would have been the default go to option, anywhere else worth looking?

IF you want to stick it in your self, most of the supermarkets an Sharif DG have a small audio section.
Or a cruise down satwa
Yeah I don't think installing myself is a great idea... I'm very much in the Chilli camp of mechanical mindedness compared to all these spanner twirlers we have here!Or a cruise down satwa
You can add an aux-in on most cars. Basically it connects to where the CD changer ports supposed to connect. This is the cheaper option and it cost me less than $10 to add it to my BMW.
Alternatively you can add USB/SD card/Aux-in and even bluetooth to your car. This can run upto $100. Check on eBay.

Isn't that the most annoying ad you've ever heard? If I ever meet that woman.......My current head unit doesn't have iPod connectivity and those radio transmitter things are frankly crap, I've tried two.

that's my favourite advert at the moment, i know it all off by heart! i can only presume the client was from the subcontinent and was extremely specific in what they wanted…..
i'm looking for a new head unit as well [current one is US specific so the nav and tuner ins;t UAE compatible], so if you see anything decent let me know. i need single DIN though.
if i were looking for double DIN i'd go with this one. on the high side price wise but then you get voice recognition, proper car phone, satnav, iTunes and spotify all in a sleek package. the only other manufacturer offering this at the moment is alpine who want nearly 3 times as much to pay for it.

fitting is easy. your car will have an iso plug into which the oem radio connects. all you need is a universal adaptor such as this one to fit between the existing lead and the plug for whichever radio you buy comes with:
