24hrs in Dubai. What to do?

I've got a delayed flight on my holiday trip. Currently in LHR waiting to get on the 380. Looks like I will be put up for a day in Dubai. Got my mrs song, so can't be sampling any Russians.

So PH massive, any suggestions to have a blast for 24 hours in Dubai? Might even join you lot for a drink of there is a hangout zone for he PH crowd.

When I came here for my first visit I had just under 24hrs.
I used the open top bus to get around and hopped off at a few points that looked interesting.

If I was you I'd do the same thing as your time is too short to spend lots of it wandering around aimlessly.

Burj Khalifa (book in advance, it's stupidly expensive if you just walk up)
Fountains at the Dubai Mall

Really close together, pretty impressive from my tourist perspective. Fountains at night particularly good.

I'd recommend an evening meal on the balcony of TGi Fridays at the mall so you're right beside the fountains. Maybe take the metro to a few places. Burj Khalifa is good but depends on whether your wife likes heights or not.

You could take a boat tour down the creek. Visit a souk or two.

Just taking a taxi in Dubai is usually a life changing event.

Thanks guys. Unfortunately the pilot used NOS and kept the engine in VTEC zone all the way. We stil made the connection as they kept the next flight waiting.
