groom will sort me out with transport and make bookings for any hotels etc. i just need a plan. flying in and out of kochin.

Despite living and working in India for 7 1/2 years I never went to Kerala. So sorry Phil cannot help.

Couple of the folks in the office are from Kerala. I'll see what they suggest

Me and the missus went for 10 days in June Shirt. Beautiful part of the world, terrible drivers, mosquitos galore but absolutely fantastic place. We stayed in Wayanad for 5 days which is mainly a forest, then travelled south to allepey and Trivandrum for a few days. Allepey is nice, one of the more touristy areas with lots of little boating trips through the backwaters and a nice little beach. Be prepared for random groups of people wanting to take a photograph with the white man aswell. I'll have a look at a map to see how far away the wedding is from where I was and see where I can think to suggest.

One of my Keralan guys from work also recommends going to a resort called Kadavu for 2 or 3 days after the wedding, then travelling to the Allepey area for a couple of nights on a boat, fishing trip etc. Apparently Thrissur is a really nice place, plenty of temples and things to visit if that's your thing.
