PH visiting Dubai
Discussion
Hi guys and girls! If you read the front-end of this site, you might have seen my name attached to some words. I'm coming over to Dubai for a little gig at the Autodrome and Motor City. I've booked my flights a couple of days early though, as I've been told that Fridays are pretty good for PH-ey type occurring.
I'll be arriving quite late on Thursday (near midnight) and will have all of Friday and Saturday (November 7th and 8th) free to explore Dubai car culture.
I'm really keen on meeting with a few PHers in that time, and while I've already worked up a little road-trip schedule, I'd also appreciate any suggestions of what to do!
Thanks all, I can't wait to get over there!

where are you staying and what's the event?
friday morning there's a track day at the autodrome. 5 of us will be there with a pair of clio cups and an rs2000 x-pack [which will be getting left for dead rightly enough!]. theres normally a good mix of cars from cater hams and tuned ricers up to aventadors and the like. last week one guy brought along a mclaren p1.
car culture is pretty broad from posing in high end metal [malls, jbr walk] to dune bashing [the desert adventure show is also on that weekend] to racing. sadly the national touring car championship is a shadow if its former self but the locals love drag racing and sand racing in 1000bhp nissan patrols….. a few of us are also involved in prepping a car for the 24H Dubai race if you fancy having a nose in the workshop?

website's a mess but check out the ferrari section in 'collections'. in the window at the moment they have a norwood p4 and a 330 lmb. dubai is only just starting to take notice of collector classics and in typical fashion they've gone large straight away.
do you know steve hall? think he's done some work for PH in the past. he came out for the 24H race this year and could give you some pointers from the professional's POV
