I'm trying to find out about a company that was (now been wound up I think) registered in Dubai. What kind of information is publicly available over there and how do I access this? I'm looking for directors/shareholders etc...

Thanks

Was it a freezone company? If so you could call the relevant authority and ask them.

If it was a DIFC registered company they display all of that info on the directory, other freezones are not so forthcoming ime.

Very little public info available here.
Connections and Wasta will get you more info.

One of the law firms may be able find you some info.

There is no equivalent to Companies House in the UK, and requests for information are equally as likely to arouse suspicion in reaction to the applicant as they are the subject. If the matter relates to an act of fraud or dent, unless you are looking at so etching with the DIFC in Dubai then the matter probably goes straight to criminal sanction, rather than a civil dispute - there is no real insolvency regime and failure to pay debt is a criminal offense. If you are simply looking to diligence a counterparty as part of a deal, there are plenty of research companies that you can look to help you. If youRe looking to bring action against a local, frankly I would forget it,
