I'm not aware of any active posters that are based there, perhaps some lurkers will come out to play.
Why Kuwait? A mate runs a restaurant chain throughout the GCC and hates the place, even compared to Qatar and Bahrain.
It will be a good place for us to save money, we will be earning a decent salary with zero outgoings. Why Kuwait? A mate runs a restaurant chain throughout the GCC and hates the place, even compared to Qatar and Bahrain.
I might the first PH'er over there so, shall fly the flag with pride!

Hi Guys
Just wondering if there any PH'ers in Kuwait City?
My fiancee and I are due to me moving there next year and we cant wait. Any share any experience and/or advice for us?
I see petrol is fantastically cheap! does this mean a good car culture?

I lived in Kuwait for 3 years, but I managed to escape!
Not that bad actually, lots of stories/hints/tips if you want them, but might prefer to respond to a private mail rather than post on a public forum.
Risky living together if you are not married, that's guaranteed jail time if caught, and it only needs a nosy neighbour to make a complaint.....
I got stopped once with the wife in the car and the cops first question was is this your wife? We were taken to the police station and not released for about 30 minutes while they checked hat we were indeed married.

I think you'd have to pay me some serious money to get me over there, Qatar is bad enough... but being taken to the police to see if you're married?! c'mon! Update:
I move there on the 26th of this month, my employment has started much sooner
Would be great to hear from any Phers there
That leaves 15 days to change your mind, must be mad. As above, don't take the fiancée until she is your Mrs or you may find yourself in a heap of trouble (nosy neighbours are sadly not rare)I move there on the 26th of this month, my employment has started much sooner

Qatar is paradise in comparison.

A (female) friend and I had planned on going to Kuwait for a weekend at some point... now obviously it's separate hotel rooms but will we have issues even being in the same car together, I thought that was only Saudi. Not that bad actually, lots of stories/hints/tips if you want them, but might prefer to respond to a private mail rather than post on a public forum.

Will nix the trip if that is the case.
