Nice place isn't it... went there for a long weekend a few weeks ago, is the date festival still on?
Go take a look if so, we spent an enjoyable evening there.

Where are you staying?
We were at the Tilal Liwa Oasis which had a lovely breeze blowing across the pool meaning you could lay outside even in 50 degree temps.

Enjoy!

I drove all of the way there in a rag top wrongler a few years back as there is amazing camping off the road that cuts down into the really big dunes - we didn't see another soul from the time we drove off the road until we came back on it two days later. Lovely stuff.

It's where the Abu Dhabi Desert Challange (FIA cross country rally) is based every year.

We popped along there as well, the UAE's biggest dune had to be worth seeing, sadly no activity on the racetrack or the hillclimb so it was a quick photo and away...... the road up to the dune is fun though, better than Jebel Hafeet I reckon.

Here for work sadly and it's a tad hotter than Dubai.

It's been extremely windy. The Camel Track Pavilion on the way to the Tilal hotel has been completely shredded and the road is having to be cleared every evening as nature tries to reclaim them back to sand dunes.

Shame nature can't reclaim all the bloody speed bumps on that road... it only goes to the hotel for god's sake, why does it need upwards of 20 speedbumps?
Drove me mad going up and down there in the Donkey!

Not much fun in the Porsche either. But, as we know, give the locals a chance and they'll go as fast as they can.
