HELP FOR 2015 DUBAI 24 HOUR RACE PLEASE
Discussion
I wonder if anyone may be able to assist. I have arranged for 3 middle aged 'boys' to attend the above. I gather that the entrance is free but you need to obtain a ticket in advance? Does anyone know how to go about this?
One of the party is celebrating his 50th, I realise that it will not be like Le Mans, but are there bars at the circuit where one can indulge on a few cold ones?
Many thanks
Simon

Every thing is free no tickets required but you can print one of in advance but they are never checked, no booze on track but there are a few places near by, polo club, gulf club.
All the pits are open, not sure which one we are in this year but your welcome to come find us.

Thank you Jason, that's very helpful. Nearby - walkable (I realise it will be hot) or a taxi? I will take you up on your offer - many thanks. All the pits are open, not sure which one we are in this year but your welcome to come find us.

This event has to be the most uncared for event in the world. It has the best facilities, the best cars, the best everything, yet the 2 times I have been there have been less than 20 people filling a 10,000 seating capacity...or so!
You will have no trouble just turning up, parking, and wandering around. It's a cracking event and you'll love it....but for me it's just missing the atmosphere. Having said that, it's been 2 years since I've been so maybe things have changed. Being able to poke your head through the fence and have the cars fly past about 10 feet away is an experience though.

Not much is walkable in Dubai!Last time I went was a good few years back, and we just kept popping back to the Marina for a few drinks.
It's nothing like Le Mans, in both good and bad ways - the good is that you can get right into the action in the pits, the bad is that there is/was no real atmosphere as there are no spectators.
I would treat your trip like a holiday in Dubai with a bit of racing on the side, rather than a 'Le Mans' type pilgrimage.
you can drink in the pits, everyone does it just be discrete.
i thought 2014 was a big step up in turnout and approach to the event from the organisers. it was pretty packed on the saturday afternoon.
you won't find another GT event like it. for sure it's not that well attended [but neither are it's sister events such as barcelone] but creventec are the only organiser who allow public access to pits and paddock 24/7 on all 3 days.

The event in January will be my 6th Dubai 24hr event, all done helping / running a team. My first year had the 2 Matmut 911 Porches in the garage to our left and one of the top Ferraris to the right, talk about an eye opener. As Everybody says, just rock up and stick your head anywhere you want as most teams operate on a completely open pit basis. You can also get on the grid before the race starts.
Thank you to all who have helped with this. We are booked and cannot wait to be at the event. Motors TV showed the race live last year which is why I wanted to be there for the 10th anniversary. As we will definitely be in need of a beer or two at sometime during 24 hours, how far away is the nearest place to go? Hope that we might meet up in January.
Cheers

2) Zettanet Racing (Honda DC5)
3) Charger Racing (Dodge Charger)
4) Dragon Racing (2 Ferrari 458's)
