Hi Folks,

I own an Evoque, its in for a service just now, they phoned explaining it needs brake pads which i would rather just do myself, and the fact they say it will be 2000dhs.

Anyone with experience buying parts from Landrover direct? Is there a local Dingbro / Euro car parts type place out here? can't seem to find much online.

Thanks in advance

I get all my bits like that either in the UK and bring them out in my suitcase or if I have to buy locally then there are a number of reputable places along Al Ittihad road in Sharjah (go early doors on a Saturday to miss the traffic)

Would also pay you to check that the brake pads actually do need changing, several of my colleagues have been told by dealers to change pads when there's still nearly 50% left on them.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I am going back to the UK on the 25th so that may be a good idea!

Yes i would never take there word for it, ill be checking it tonight, one thing i do need to watch is if they are worn, i catch them before the sensor it activated, save me another trip to the garage for a reset.

Thanks for help

Yep... that's one of the places I was thinking of. BMW (Al Ittihad) Road has loads of car places to pick from.

For general car parts I have good luck at "TVR" on the side of Al Qouz.

For common cars they seem to have most stuff of the shelf, seems genuine to. BUT cash only.

Or you could always go to satwa square and have one of the car hawker guys run off and get you a set, but they might not be pucker.

Msw stock a good range of brembo pads.

Plenty of landrover parts places but my mate with a defender reckons it's far cheaper buying parts from the UK and shipping them out.

Like others have already said, if going to the UK buy there.

Especially with non service items. Al Tayer wanted 5000 DHS (£800) for a detachable - slot in - tow hook for my RRS. Bought a genuine Land Rover part for £120 delivered to UK.
