Hi Guys,

I've been told I'll be receiving a written offer next week for a job in Abu Dhabi. Fingers crossed it will all be good.

So, I have been spending a lot of time on Dubizzle weighing up car options. All good fun, but it got me thinking.

I really enjoy man cave time working on cars. Am I right in thinking that even if I got a villa with a garage, the temperatures out there prevent people doing work on their own cars? I expect the garages are not air-conditioned, right?

Any advice on how that itch could be scratched would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

yea, its pretty hot from this time of the year through to sept really.

I still do some work on my motocross bike in a mates garage (but to be honest as its a bike anything major we push it into his hallway for the day - he has his wife well trained!)

We were looking at a huge industrial fan that has a water supply and actually seems pretty nice and cool that he was considering shoving in the corner of his garage. Its mobile so you can wheel it around when you are working on car. Its not an Aircon unit so its pretty reasonably priced. (Found it in Dragon Mart which is basically dirt cheap Chinese tat!)

If you were planning to doing a fair amount of work in the garage over the summer months then I'd seriously consider a proper aircon install.

It haut like working one your car out side in the rain or snow if your dedicated you can do it. But yes it very hot you sweat loads so I just take a few litres of water and a towel to dry of with. That's working in a covers car park if you get a villa with a gargae (most are car port affairs) then I would stick in an ac unit straight away
