When I pass through various security gates, I have a habit of waving to the guards, but also giving then the thumbs-up. Did I read somewhere that this is offensive to certain people and that it actually means that I'm going to shove my finger up his bum?

Is that why I always get waved and smiled at in return so enthusiastically? Didn't realise I was onto a winner...

I don't think it's offensive here. Apparently it's only offensive in Iran and Afghanistan and some parts of Italy.

Thanks, I've qualified 1st in the last 3 races, of which I didn't start 1 and won the last 2 races of the season by some way and got rookie of the year...and yes he is as pissed off as he looks.

A is a given, B is subjective smile I wouldnt be so arrogant to claim a better driver, but I know I can drive.

They're talking of going power to weight next year to try level it up. That means restrictor plates for me I guess as I'm not too keen on adding weight.

I thought it was a minimum requirement around these parts? biggrin
At least I've got 2 trophys and a rookie of the year trophy to back it up wink
A couple of us have been asked to take customers round Losail in Novemeber in the new Lexus RCF's hopefully we can settle who'se the fastest then given we'll all be in the same car and allowed to spank them all day long! hehe

Will you be coming over the Dubai 24hr race in Jan? A few of us will be there up to our eyeballs in blood, sweat and oil.... or in my case sitting on the pit wall for 3 days doing lap timing etc.

Would love to but I don't have the budget for that level of racing, we really are grass roots racers with small budgets. My entire budget for next year is circa 30k AED if things go majorly wrong.

Has the touring car series over there had much success with measuring things by bhp per kg?

If you cannot race why not pop over and watch / help out, it is truly the car event of the year (next year will be my 5th Dubai 24hr and 7th overall!).

We run to a maximum of 200 whp with a minimum weight. The teams have to present a dyno sheet to prove the 200 whp........
